Welcome to The Blue&Gold! We are a student-run news site dedicated to providing relevant and reliable information to all students, as well as the surrounding community. Our reporting strives to be honest, unbiased, and timely. We exist to give students a voice on campus, and we encourage undergraduates (and graduates) from all majors to both participate and utilize The Blue&Gold as a resource. We are here to listen to students. Let us know what you have to say.

The ultimate goal of The Blue&Gold is to strengthen the university and surrounding community through our student to student connections. Our news is by students for students. Through this, we hope to bridge the gap between student voices and administrative choices to bring about positive changes on campus.

The Blue&Gold aims to establish itself as a relevant and reliable news source not just for Widener, but the surrounding community of Chester. We want students to be able to find valid news from us first, because we were the first ones on the scene.

The site was founded in summer of 2013 by two alumni, Autumn Heisler ’15 and Maria Klecko ‘15, and the website was established by Nick Demberger ‘15. Blue&Gold’s administrators and advisors noticed that there were many news outlets from Widener directed toward alumni, but the school was in need of a student-run media hub after The Dome, Widener’s original student newspaper, was discontinued in 2008.

Students of Widener University, from undergrad to graduate, continuing studies to OLLI members, are welcomed and encouraged to submit stories, ideas, and questions to the Blue&Gold: Widener University’s Student Media Site. This is the place for the student voice to be heard.
